Free Value Stock picks for all APF Expert Stock Screener Subscribers

Awhile back I posted about a service from APF Trading called Expert Stock Screener(yup the one up there in the banner).

They have just sent me an email regarding a value added service which comes free to all subscribers to their powerful Expert Stock Screener. The free service is called APF's Value Stock Picks.

Why did they added this service? We know that we hold some stocks for we believe in the company's capability to provide earnings in the long run thus if we can get a hold of these stocks when their valuation is good we can maximize our limited funds and accumulate such stocks.

Below is an excerpt from APF's website about Value Stock Picks:

Christmas season

We celebrated Christmas yesterday and the PSE has been closed since Dec 24 till Dec 28 in observance of the holidays.

So what have you thought during these days? Most people spend Christmas with parties and buying here and there. There is nothing wrong with enjoying the holidays, the thing is even though it is a once in a year celebration one should always keep in mind one's goals. It is okay to buy gifts as long as it is the thought that counts rather than the monetary value.

Give gifts of value.

Something that the person you gave will cherish for a long time and from time to time will look back and remember  and smile.

Most little ones at this time might receive money from their lolo, lola, auntie and uncle. Why not teach them to save up those small monetary gifts from  lolo and tell them that if such is accumulated to at least Php 5,000.00 they can open an online brokerage account at Metrobank and start buying stock with intrinsic value while their young, remember TEL years back was only at 250 per share but now its already at 2400.

But above all remember the reason why we celebrate this event. God loves us that much that He gave His own Son for us. How about you what can you share this Christmas?

We thank you for helping us give some to our poor kababayan in Isabela as well as for the CCVF project. We hope to actively give what ever we can to the least of our brethren if we have some extra. No matter how small it is when we put it together it becomes a bigger chunk.

Give not because you want something in return, give because you want to give. Give without expecting any in return.

How to start investing even if you have a small salary

source:http://fasttrackhomeowner.org/

Many of us back in the Philippines might be shock if you told them that you are investing in stocks.

Most people think that you need lots of money to start investing. Let say maybe in their head the minimum is Php 250,000. But in reality its not the amount that makes investing hard, it's the discipline to put aside money for investing. Just like in my previous post the question is how much money do you have now?

So how will you start investing even if you don't have that much? I have a motto before that I always read when doing something. It goes like this "Start small, Think BIG!" In reality everything starts small. Maybe you saved 20 pesos last week or maybe you got a bonus this year of let say 5000 pesos. Are those amount big?Yup your right it's small. But if you really save this amount instead of planning to spend it by buying a new phone or buying a new pair of pants in the long run it will accumulate.

Try to re-examine your spending. What are expenses that in  reality are not needed. You only get to spend because maybe your friends  has this coffee after work habit, or maybe you have conditioned your stomach to eat a burger before going home because of the traffic in Pasig. Try to see were your money goes and you'll realize you have been a spender. From there little by little cut it down and shift it to savings. In a short span of time you would have save money enough to open an account at an online stock broker.

Another thing is you must have the discipline in investing. One effective way is to look at investing as one of your bills. I believe your paying something right now right?Maybe you borrowed money for your car or your house or it so happens that you overused your credit card ending into a credit card debt. And every paycheck you have always made sure that you pay at least the minimum payment in order to avoid penalties right? Why not think of investing like that only in a positive way.

They call this concept paying yourself first. Here is what you do. Before paying any of those bills and before thinking where will you spend your paycheck first think of an amount to put in your savings that will be invested maybe weekly or monthly. Think of this amount as payment to yourself, a treat. Make sure that when you segregate this amount you will not think of it anymore or maybe think in the back of your mind that in case you got short you can pull this out. Remember this is your treat to yourself so don't touch.

When you have reached a certain amount that you have set to invest go ahead and invest it. Buy the best stocks. Remember as well the concept of cost averaging. The stock might be high but there are times that the price is low does buying on a regular basis will lower your average cost and when the price is right, again remember to compute if you are more than break even, you can sell your stock at a profit.

Remember to pay yourself first, accumulate, invest regularly to  lower average cost, and take profits when the price is right.

PSE website: Company Stock Information Part 4

Another link in the stock information worth checking is the Chart link.

Again right click on the link and choose open in new tab. You will see three charts but concentrate on the chart on top. This chart shows the company's last price(sometimes term as the closing price) represented by the black line, open represented by the dark blue line, high represented by the red line, and low represented by the light blue line.

Again you will ask me, "Louis what will I learn here I didn't even passed my Math subject in high school."

This chart shows you the trend of the stock. If you look closely the X-axis or the one below the chart shows the months and on the Y-axis are the prices. This chart shows when and how much was the price of this particular company's stock price comparing how much was its closing price(which is the basis of next trading days starting price), what was its highest asking price and what was the lowest bid price. It will give you an idea when to buy, that is when it's low and when to sell that is when its high.

This is a very rudimentary form technical analysis. Technical analyst interpret such movement and then predict or we term it time the market so that they know when to buy or sell.  They have this signal like an abrupt jump in price or a steady rise of the price. A successive dip or a successive rise that guides them in there buying and selling activities. But for now lets contend ourselves with the simple analysis. Buy when its low, sell when its high, hold when price is steady, and take profit when there is a steady rise in price.
